ITINERARY

Day1: Marrakech - Imi Oughlad - Tizi Ntachte - Tiziane :

We depart early from Marrakech for a scenic drive through the Moulay Brahim Gorge and the upper valleys, reaching the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains and our starting point at Imi Oughlad. Here, we meet our Berber muleteer crew. Our hike begins with a 2-hour ascent along switchback mule tracks to the Tizi n’Tachete pass, offering stunning views of the Imlil and Azzaden valleys. After a short walk to Imi n’Ifri for a picnic, we’ll continue on a 2.5-hour descent to the red clay village of Tiziane (1750m), where we’ll spend the night.

Day2 : Tizziane - Tizi ntaghrhourt -D'kend

After breakfast, we begin our hike up the Assif n’Ait Oussaden Valley, passing through walnut groves and gradually making our way to the Tizi n’Taghrhourte pass (1995m). From here, we enjoy a rare, almost flat stretch before reaching the Assaka Spring, where we’ll stop for a peaceful picnic, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the area after about 2.5 hours of relatively easy walking. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our descent along the edge of the forest until we reach the Berber village of D’Knt (1870m) or Agouns n’Assoul, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night in a bivouac or gite.

We begin our morning with a 3-hour hike through walnut groves, fields of corn and barley, passing by local shepherds with their sheep and goats, and women carrying 20kg bundles of firewood and dried herbs. We cross the Tizi n’Tagdalt pass and descend through juniper trees to a small spring nestled among the trees, where we’ll stop for a peaceful picnic. After refreshing ourselves, we continue down winding tracks for about 3 hours, reaching a small river at the start of the Assif n’Azzaden valley. From here, we’ll make our way up to the summer village of Tamsoult, where we’ll set up camp for the night.
